There are several opportunities for horse riding in the local area, including:-
Five Saints Riding Centre is situated in the Cothi Valley on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains, The surrounding countryside is a relatively undiscovered area in one of the most picturesque parts of Wales. The farm has direct access to a variety of terrain from forestry tracks to mountain moors. You can hack out in small informal groups (approx. 6-8 horses) tailoring the rides to your own requirements and will be accompanied by an experienced guide. All of the horses are forward going, well schooled & responsive, ranging from 11.3 hh to 16.3 hh. While most are suitable for riders of all abilities, a few are used exclusively for experienced riders. Prices per person:-
Rheidol Riding Centre just outside Aberystwyth, caters for all ages and abilities. Basic instruction is included and all rides are escorted by BHS-qualified staff. Safety helmets (B.S.4472) are provided free.
Cwmtydu Riding And Trekking Centre overlooks the beautiful Cwmtudu Bay and offers rides through 80 acres of private forestry land and around the Bay of Cwmtydu. Horses and ponies are suitable for all the family on one, two or three hour treks. All equipment is supplied.
There are several golf courses within the local area. A few miles away is the lovely little nine-hole Cilgwyn Course. It is in a picturesque setting just outside the village of Llangybi. It has a large practice area.
If you prefer Links courses, then it is worth driving up to the Borth & Ynyslas Course, north of Aberystwyth. It claims to be the oldest course in Wales and is set on the banks of the River Dyfi, in a beautiful setting.
Closer to home are the courses at Aberyswyth Golf Club, situated on the cliffs overlooking the town or at Cardigan Golf Club.
If swimming in the sea at one of Cardigan Bay's lifeguard beaches isn't for you, then Lampeter Swimming Pool may be an option. It has a steam cabin and a hot tub and is open all year round.
Close to Oakwood in Pembrokeshire is the new Blue Lagoon water park, complete with waves, flumes, cannons, slides etc - all the things you need for a nice relaxing swim!
